THIS Sunday, July 15th, 2012, Susana Evert Weingarten, a world known dancer, is the special guest salsa instructor! 

 
This is an ALL AGES event; Lesson is at 7:00 PM and dancing starts at 8:00 PM.

The July 15th La SalsoTeca features an "Afro Latin and Caribbean Dance Styles Class"
 
This month at La SalsoTeca our guest instructor is Susana Evert Weingarten of DANCEVERT, a world renowned, award winning, teacher, dancer, and choreographer. 
 
Susana Weingarten class will cover a basic understanding of the main Latin rhythms such as salsa, merengue, samba, rumba, etc. 
 
The class is taught using authentic Latin music that transports you to each country and makes this workshop a foundation of understanding of the some of the styles of dance and music of Latin­ American and Caribbean cultures.

- This event is all ages! Under 16 need to be accompanied by parent or guardian. This is not for children, however young lades and gentlemen interested in dancing at one of the finest salsa events are welcome.

About Susana:
 
Born and raised in Mexico City, Susana began her ballet training at the age of four and began her professional training as a modern dancer at the school of Ballet Nacional de Mexico. Later she trained in the
school of Ballet Independiente de Mexico where she danced professionally and toured the Mexican Republic and Central America. Susana moved to New York City to continue her dance training with Master teachers: Takako Azakawa, Kazuko Hirabayashi, Louis Falco, The Alvin Ailey Dance School, and Carol Rioux among others. She performed with Linda Diamond and Dancers at the Symphony Space and Lincoln Center Annex in New York City. Susana moved to Cleveland, Ohio with husband, Tom and son, Max Evert and co-founded "The Tom Evert Dance Company", where she has served as the co-director, principal dancer, choreographer and teacher. With her company now called DANCEVERT, she has created a major body of choreographic work and received fellowships for choreography from the Ohio Arts Council and The Arts Council of Fairfax County VA. etc. Susana has participated in many collaborations with prestigious organizations such as The Great Lakes Theatre Festival, The Cleveland Orchestra, The Cleveland Museum of Art, and the list goes on. Susana continues with her partner/husband working extensively with arts integrated instruction in schools, outreach programs, and performances, locally, nationally, and internationally. She travels often to Mexico were she teaches workshops in various organizations such as TELEVISA in Mexico City, and TV Azteca ( main TV-Cinema Nets in Latin-America).

- Turn LEFT (North) on West 25th Street

- Park on Freeman, Columbus or the lot across the street
 
From I-90 (if you live on the East side):
- Take I-90 West towards Cleveland
- Exit Abbey Avenue (West 14th Street, Exit 171)
- Veer RIGHT on exit to Abbey Avenue
- Turn LEFT on Abbey Avenue
- Turn LEFT on Columbus Road
- Park on Freeman, Columbus or the lot across the street
 
From I-71 (if you live SouthWest):
- Take I-71 North towards Cleveland
- Exit West 25th Street
- Turn LEFT (North) on to West 25th Street
- Turn RIGHT on to Columbus Road (it is more like a Y or veer to the RIGHT)
- Turn RIGHT on to Freeman Avenue
- Park on Freeman, Columbus or the lot across the street
 
From I-77 (if you live South):
- Take I-77 North towards Cleveland
- Take I-490 West
- Exit West 7th Street
- Turn RIGHT on to West 7th Street
- Head North on West 7th Street
- You will go under the Inner Belt Bridge and while under the bridge veer LEFT on to West 14th which is a hard LEFT
- Turn RIGHT on Abbey Avenue
- Turn LEFT on Columbus Road
- Park on Freeman, Columbus or the lot across the street
 
From 176 (if you live in Parma):
- Take 176 North towards Cleveland
- Exit West 14th Street
- Take West 14th Street North (there is a traffic circle at the exit)
- At the end of West 14th Street you will have a choice to get on the Freeway or veer RIGHT for Abbey Avenue
- Veer RIGHT to Abbey Avenue
- Follow the signs for Abbey Avenue and take Abbey Avenue West
- Turn LEFT on Columbus Road
- Park on Freeman, Columbus or the lot across the street
