Job Title: Director of Prevention Programs

Hours:Monday – Friday 9:00 – 5:00
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creation, coordination, development and revising or acquiring the prevention and education program’s curriculum in the Hispanic/Latino community and submission of quarterly reports electronically.
- Responsible for the supervision of staff and coordination of program activities.
- Responsible for providing consultation to social service agencies, community organizations/groups, employers, schools, advocating for culture specific alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention and education services through state and local officials and agencies.
- Responsible for preparation for site visits of prevention programs.
- Responsible for the planning and implementing community education services and annual evaluations of staff and performing exit interviews of departing staff.
- Responsible for representing the agency at monthly mandated program meetings such as prevention/HIV round table meetings and Regional Advisory Group (RAG) meetings and all other program mandatory meetings.
- Responsible for collecting and monitoring data on Hispanics/Latinos use of alcohol and other drug addiction whom reside in Cuyahoga County.
- Responsible for maintaining appropriate information about services delivered in the community for planning and evaluation purposes.
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the prevention program.
- Responsible for developing and implementing the policies and procedures of the prevention program.
- Responsible for preparing an annual plan for the operation of the prevention program.
- Responsible for the prevention program’s quality assurance activities and findings.
- Responsible for the hiring and termination of prevention program staff.
- Responsible for ensuring that the prevention program is operating in accordance with the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services Prevention Program certification standards.
- Responsible for preparing and administering the program’s revenue and expenditure budget.
- Responsible for keeping the Executive Director informed of:
- The content of monthly financial statements for the prevention program
- The program’s quality assurance and improvement activities and findings
- The hiring and termination of prevention program staff
- The status of any special projects or grants being developed and/or administered by the prevention program
- The status of any legal issues involving the program
- Responsible for public relations and marketing of the program’s prevention services
- Comply with HIPPA regulations
- Other duties as assigned
- In-state travel is required for consultations, outreach educational programs, in-service training, etc.
- Travel out of state may be required for meetings, conferences and trainings
Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist I and/or LISW or LSW with two years of experience and/or certified Health Education Specialist with one year of prevention experience. Have management training and strong Hispanic/Latino cross cultural skills and must be bilingual.
- Knowledge of computer use software programs (Windows, Excel, Power Point, Web-based)
Education requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in education, sociology, psychology, or related field with two year experience in alcohol, drug addiction and mental health services with a minimum of two years as a supervisor.
