Episode 50: November 27, 2015
In today’s show, we learn about the commitment to Diversity at Northeast Ohio Medical University and the steps the college continues to take to make it a priority for faculty, students and the healthcare community at large. In honor of Small Business Saturday, we will take you to a local jewelry store. Old San Juan Jewelers, a long-standing business member of the Hispanic community in northeast ohio, will share with us some holiday gift ideas. We also have a local artist and small business owner of The Good Goat Gallery in-studio with pieces from the Lucha Libre Meets the Dead Art show. She tells us about her love for the culture, the influence it has had on her art, and the many available classes available at the gallery (including latin percussion class taught by her husband). We have a calendar full of upcoming local events to share with you in our En Tu Ciudad segment and Myra tells us about this upcoming Tuesday which is “Giving Tuesday” a day dedicated to giving back to local non-profits who give tirelessly in service to our community every day. Lastly, as the Christmas holiday approaches, we wanted to introduce you to Lakewood New Life Church who has a brand new All-Spanish spoken service available for our community on Sundays. Check it all out right here on this weeks episode of Yo Soy Latino Cleveland. And click SUBSCRIBE to receive relevant timely updates delivered directly to you!

What is #GivingTuesday? Well, WE at Yo Soy Latino Cleveland think this is one of the Most Important days coming up… We have a day for giving thanks and we have two days for “getting deals”. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back.… This coming Tuesday, Dec 1st is the day that we can recognize and give-back to a non-profit organization that GIVES all year long to our Community. Organizations like The Hispanic Business Center who is helping to build a strong and vibrant Latino Business Community in Northeast Ohio. They assisted entrepreneurs seeking technical assistance and support by providing bilingual one-on-one business advising, at No cost. And they help the men or women in our community, who have a dream, become vibrant and successful business owners.
So today, we would like to encourage you to consider donating your time, expertise or financial support to the The Hispanic Business Center on GIVING TUESDAY and thank them for the amazing support they provide to our community!
